Mr. Jamey Alcorn

Now in his 23rd year at Pepperell High School, Mr. Alcorn is beginning his second year as Principal.  Prior to serving 7 years as an Assistant Principal, he taught in the Social Studies department for 14 years.  He served as an assistant football coach for 13 seasons, the golf coach for 10 seasons and an assistant baseball coach for 4 seasons.  After graduating from Shorter College, he earned his Master’s Degree in Curriculum, Instruction, & Assessment from Walden University in 2006.  He later completed his Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Administration & Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University in 2008.  He was voted by his peers as the 1997-1998 Teacher of the Year, served as a teacher representative on the PHS School Council from 2003-2007, was selected as the STAR teacher in 2005 & 2008, and was a recipient of the Dragon Club’s Commitment to Excellence Coach’s Award in 2009.  Mr. Alcorn is married to the former Mary Conn, who serves as the Principal at Garden Lakes Elementary.

Dr. Willerson enters her third year at Pepperell High School as Assistant Principal. She received an Ed.D in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University (2006), an Administrative Add On from Jacksonville State University (2000), an Ed.S in Counseling and Guidance (1997), M.Ed in Counseling and Guidance (1992) and a B.S. in Middle Grades (1990) from the University of West Georgia. This is Dr. Willerson's 26th year in education having served in the roles of teacher, guidance counselor and administrator. Additionally she has taught at the college level and served as a Qualified Zone Application Bonds Grant Consultant. Dr. Willerson was selected for Leadership Rome, recognized as a Floyd County Distinguished Service Award Employee of the Year, been selected as a Teacher of the Year and received the Walt Disney Teacher Award. Dr. Willerson is married to Ivan Willerson. Dr. Willerson has one daughter, Ashley Hamby, who currently teaches at Rome Middle School.

Mr. Bobby Mintz

B Mintz 

Mr. Mintz is starting his first year as Assistant Principal at Pepperell High School. He worked here part-time last year as a math teacher and assisted with the baseball team. He holds a Masters Degree in Education from Jacksonville State University. He previously served as the principal at Cedar Bluff High School in Cherokee County, Alabama. He was also a former head football and baseball coach at Cedar Bluff. Mr. Mintz has two sons in college: Levi attends Samford University and Jake attends Birmingham Southern. He teaches an adult Sunday School class each week. He recently married Ms. Angela Jones from Cherokee County and they look forward to working with all of the Pepperell students and serving in the Lindale community.
